Throwback Thursday // 6-18-15

I started this blog making it daily to combine the various things people share about fashion. Some people post on blogs to highlight the classy style of the elite, others street style, others the new lines or new designers etc. To me, I make every day different to create a place where in a week at least one of these subtopics can be addressed. I want to share the new lines and designers, but I also want to address the latest trends both modest and casual. In other words, today I want to share not necessarily a throwback dress, but rather a report on the CFDA 2015 icon award: Pharrell Williams. He got the icon award because of his street style and endless combination of unique patterns. He says he never saw himself as an icon, he simply grabbed inspiration from the world around him: sounds, colors, construction sites. Thus, his humility is refreshing in a business that makes so much money, and his style, although very strange at times, is respectable considering that it is his, and only his. Style.com divided his style with the follwing images: his adidas, his kicks, his short shorts, his camo, his Chanel clothes, his cardigans, his hats, his sweatshirts, his womenswear, and his fur. All that diversity creates the Pharrell Williams style. It's his adaptation of diverse looks that landed him this years style icon award: one of the largest feats a fashion forward celebrity could ever hope for.
