Modest Monday 6-8-15

The first ever MODEST MONDAY.

I recently read a very inspiring and motivational article in Forbes magazine about the most successful women around the world. Featured on the cover is Jessica Alba for her self-made company, Honest. Although the article, based off of net worth and finance, is very intriguing, the pictures of Jessica are what got my attention. She wears a burnt orange dress. It's longer. Length wise, I would say it's modest.

That's when I not only began to respect Jessica for her business, but also her sense of style. Looking back at what she's worn even within the last month proves the movement of clothes getting elongating down a woman's leg.

So, what to write about for the first ever Modest Monday? Easy.

The knee length skirt.

Classy. Worn the wrong way, one could look too conservative on accident; worn the right way, it can be individualized into something great.

You can wear it with a sleeveless turtleneck, a strapless top, a crop top, a blouse, a sweater. It can make you look very sophisticated, but it can also provide an edge. They can be girly and flowy. They can be black and edgy. They can be straight and professional. It's modest.

I have attached a recent picture from Shopbop, that highlights my personal favorite summer style with a longer skirt (Clover Canyon). The classy glasses (Kate Spade), adorable crop, colorful clutch (Ela handbags) and strappy shoes (Schutz Shoes) are not to go without notice.

XO your daily dose
