Modest Monday. On October 20th, 2014, Oscar de la Renta passed away, and the gavel was passed down to Peter Copping, the new creative director at Oscar de la Renta. Copping caught the world's eye working under Nina Ricci. Known for his romantic roots creating blouses and tweed skirts galore, one might see how de la Renta would choose him. However, I find the decision interesting. Moreover, in addition to his romantic style, Copping is known for adding a modern twist. His clothes reflect a little funk with playfully distorted details. For Oscar de la Renta Copper's first line will open in Fall 2015. For the world, it is an exciting feat as Oscar de la Renta built not only a successful brand, but an impactful story with large shoes to fill. Personally, I like Copping's work. I think it's fresh yet feminine. However, I wonder how his style will impact the reputation of the brand. His Fall 2015 collection for Oscar de la Renta isn't as modest as I had hoped. On the contrary, however, his first bride and her dress surpass my aspirations. Like de la Renta, the details are to a tee. Hand-made flowers cover the dress, yet leave a bare a neck line for a perfect taste of elegance. The belt: a flawless detail. The bride, Haifa Snobar, wanted a snow-white princess style dress. Without a doubt, she looks it and Peter Copping has delivered what I believe the world is expecting.

XO your daily dose
